Anthem's planned reboot has been cancelled by Bioware - peltonfetwerivid
Bioware has announced that it has made the difficult decision to to lay off new development work on Anthem, effectively cancelling a planned reboot of the game.
In an update on the Bioware web log, the studio wrote "In the spirit of transparentness and closing we wanted to share that we've made the knotty decision to stop our new development process Anthem (aka Anthem NEXT). We wish, however, continue to proceed the Anthem reverberant service running as it exists now."
In citing the reasons behind the determination, executive manufacturer Christian Dailey added "2020 was a year unlike any other however and patc we continue to make progress against whol our game projects at BioWare, working from home during the general has had an affect on our productivity and not everything we had planned as a studio earlier COVID-19 can live completed without putt undue stress on our teams."
Thanking players and the Hymn community for their support, Dailey aforesaid that "Moving forward, we need to laser direction our efforts atomic number 3 a studio apartment and strengthen the side by side Dragon Age, and Mass Effect titles piece continuing to provide quality updates to Star Wars: The Old Commonwealth."
Anthem had been struggling to retain players since its launch in 2019, with the reboot originally declared even before the game's first anniversary last year. Bioware's next release will be Mass Effect Legendary Variant, an enhanced variation of the original Mass Effect trilogy fructify to launch on May 14.
